About the American Entertainment Armories Association
The American Entertainment Armories Association (AEAA) sets the industry standard for firearm safety on film and television sets throughout the country. AEAA is dedicated to training and educating Armorers and crew members on the multiple layers of safety protocols that must exist on any set where there are firearms or weapons.
The AEAA is at the forefront of educating elected officials and regulators at the state and local levels on the industry's best practices that keep cast and crew members safe. Our members work closely with the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), the Association of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the California Department of Justice, and other state and local authorities to ensure sets are safe working environments. Our members continue to be the expert voice when it comes firearms safety and training and work closely with studios’ safety departments, labor unions, producers, the Labor Management Safety Committee through Contract Services as well as the State Fire Marshals. AEAA supports ongoing education and certificate programs, setting a standard for the industry.
The AEAA was founded in 2002 by Property Masters, armories and weapons experts to support the common goal of remaining competitive against international counterparts in acquiring and supplying weapons inventories for theatrical use. Traditionally regulations on the import, export or domestic acquisition of firearms places American companies at a disadvantage. This prohibits many American Theatrical Armorers from being able to supply modern war pictures and television series. Our association is committed to improving conditions for domestic companies working in the area of theatrical weapons.
AEAA is proud to support Property Masters and Armorers by supplying the best, most authentic and safe options for television and film.
